But during seminary, we lived right across the street from the best Christian bookstore I’ve ever been in: the Dallas Seminary Book Center. I never take that place for granted when we visit. More than just a campus bookstore, they were a fully stocked Christian bookstore. We didn’t have kids when we were in seminary, but I had a nephew to shop for. It was there that I began my search for good books for our nephew, and later our own kids.
Here’s a small sampling of my favorites:
Read Alouds for Toddlers:
Helpers are Heroes (a VeggieTales book) – this one appears to be out of print, but Amazon has it used
Read Alouds for Preschool/Kindergarten (and older):
Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis (maybe not preschool for this one 😉
Beginning Readers for K-1st grade to read alone:
Beginner’s Bible readers (I Can Read series) – there’s too many of these to list here. The link goes to the Noah’s Ark one.
